KARIN ANKER, born 1959.
”The inspiration in my paintings come from nature, more or less abstract –
The surface, the condensation, the glades, the movement of the light and shadows is my free rendering of the fantastic landscape around me.
Each season is so different. The steel blue skies over the Baltic Sea
in the winter to the warm yellow and red sunsets over the hills in Kåseberga
I want my pictures to be ambiguous and equivocal.
They shall be open for the the viewers own interpretations and experience.”
I am born and raised in the middle of Skåne in a town called Höör.
Since 2005 I live in Kåseberga.
Here I have my own studio and gallery.
“GALLERI K in KÅSEBERGA”. K for Karin, Kåseberga,
and “konst which means art in Swedish.
When I don´t work in my studio and gallery I exhibit my pictures in different places, mainly in Sweden.
I also work with private appointments. It can be a special motive for a wedding gift or anniversary.
My method is genuine oil painting, but sometimes I do watercoulor and chalk.
The motives for my pictures I mainly find just around the corner from where I live.
The sea, the forest, the open fields with its dramatic light you often see in
my pictures.
Since 2005 I work full time as an free artist.
